RICHARD P. PHENEGER became General Manager of Square One Theatre after working for fifteen years as Press and Public Relations Manager of Stamford Center for the Arts’ Rich Forum and Palace Theatre. In addition, he serves as press rep with Downtown Cabaret Theatre (Gary Puckett, Kreskin, Crystal Gayle, Defending the Caveman and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), special events at the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts at Sacred Heart University (American Legend Series with Jack Klugman, Ernest Borgnine, Ben Vereen, Shirley Jones, Debbie Reynolds and Mickey Rooney) and Summer Theatre of New Canaan (My Fair Lady and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat). For WPKN-FM (89.5 and streaming live worldwide on wpkn.org), he created Break A Leg along with State of the ARTS, which he produces and co-hosts with Peggy Nelson every Friday from 12noon to 1pm. In addition, he worked at Stratford’s American Shakespeare Theatre, Broadway’s production of Doubles, Connecticut Grand Opera, Boston Post Road Stage Company, taught theatre at University of Bridgeport plus radio/television and theatre at Miami (Ohio) University and Iowa State University, where he also managed the Showboat Rhododendron permanently moored on the Mississippi River. He is a member of the Stratford Chamber of Commerce representing Square One Theatre.
